Quote of the Episode:
“I am willing to put myself through anything, temporary pain or discomfort means nothing to me as long as I can see that the experience will take me to a new level. I am interested in the unknown, and the only path to the unknown is through breaking barriers, an often painful process.”
– Diana Nyad
The road to success is an uphill journey. Like Atlas, it often feels like we carry the burden of our dreams on your shoulders, with little hope of relief.
When you working to achieve something there are going to be moments where the dream seems impossible. You’ll find yourself because you are making the progress you’d hoped for.
There will be pain. There might be tears.
When you face hard times, you have two choices. You can play through the pain, and become stronger, or you can give up. To give up is agony. To give up is to embrace regret, and accept that the dream was greater than you. To give up is to allow defeat.
If something you want seems impossible, but it will bring your to a new level – your career, you finances, or your thinking – make the decision to push through the pain.
Be the kind of person to do whatever it takes.
“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.”
– Ayn Rand
- Pain is a part of the journey to success. Expect it; embrace it.
- When you work through the resistance, you grow in character and ability.
- Study the masters. If they could overcome their adversities, so can you.
