Quote of the Episode:
“All progress takes place outside your comfort zone.”
– Michael J. Bobak
Everything you want is on the other side of fear. Remember a time when you wanted something really badly, but had no experience with it? Remember how scary it was?
What if you made a fool of yourself? What if you failed?
If you faced your fear, and dealt with the possible uncertainty and rejection that goes along with it, perhaps you succeeded. If you did, congrats! If you didn’t, the experience was still valuable, because it helped you grow into something greater.
Fear has its purpose. We’re biologically wired to avoid things that could injure or kill us, and that’s a good thing. When we give in to irrational fears, though – things that lead to social anxiety, but could lead to success if overcome – we lose. Every time.
Feel your fear, and do the thing anyway.
- Every time your face down fear, you win and grow.
- It’s okay to be afraid. Take the leap anyway.
- Join the challenge and do one thing that scares each month.
